In Which I Stop Denigrating the D.C. Dining Scene (Sort Of)
This year has started off with several wonderful meals: a flatiron steak at Ray’s the Steaks; a lovely lunch at Bangkok 54; a succulent brat burger topped with tangy beer-braised sauerkraut at Birch & Barley; and wonderful Vietnamese spring rolls and caramelized tofu at the always fantastic Four Sisters.
True, three of the four restaurants are actually in NoVa, not D.C. And, at Birch & Barley, located in the white-hot 14th Street corridor, the seemingly interminable wait stretched to nearly two hours -- thankfully, we were able to wait upstairs at ChurchKey along with the rest of the Logan Circle “When I worked on the Obama campaign…” crowd.
But I digress. There are some rather excellent dining options in D.C., provided you have a car.
(Yes, the font in this post is different from all the other posts, but I can't figure out how to conform it -- and you know I've spent the past half hour trying. Apparently, blogging is not like riding a bike.)
The DC restaurant scene thanks you for your show of support. Let us show you what we've got, my friend.
