Overheard at Hot Doug's:
Customer: "Is the bacon hot dog any good?"
Doug: "You're asking if the bacon hot dog is good? It's a bacon hot dog."
The menu offers corn dogs and a wide variety of crisp and juicy hot dogs, from the adventurous "game of the week" to the standard Chicago-style hot dog. Try to go on a Friday or Saturday, when they cook fries in duck fat, a most excellent use of duck blubber.

I recently revisited Hot Doug’s and tried the regular cheese fries which is topped with cheez whiz. It was hot, bubbly, and delicious. (Close, but not as good as the duck fat fries on the weekend) Just be sure to eat the first few bites slowly with a fork so you don’t embarrassingly burn yourself with molten cheese.
